Paying with Pi on PiTube: How Credits Work

PiTube is built for Pioneers, so payment works the way you'd hope: you pay in Pi, inside the Pi Browser, and only when you actually generate something. Here's the whole model in plain terms.

You Pay in Pi

Every price on PiTube is shown in Pi. There are no card forms and no outside checkout pages. When something costs Pi, you'll see the amount right on the Generate button before you tap it — the price is never hidden behind a confirmation screen.

Pi Converts to Credits

When your payment confirms, the Pi you paid becomes credits on your PiTube account. Credits are the internal fuel of the platform — think of them as tickets that generation jobs consume. One payment can cover one generation or top you up for several, depending on what you choose.

Credits Power Everything You Create

The same credit balance works across the whole Studio:

  • Video — short AI-generated clips from a text prompt or reference image.
  • Images — still images and character references.
  • Audio — sound to go with your clips.

You don't need separate balances for each — credits are credits.

You Only Pay When You Tap Generate

Browsing PiTube is free. Watching videos is free. Writing and rewriting your prompt is free. The only moment Pi leaves your wallet is when you tap Generate and approve the payment. No subscriptions, no recurring charges, no fees for looking around.

First payment = your account. If you've never used PiTube before, your first Pi payment also creates your account from your Pi identity. No separate signup needed.

Payments Happen Inside the Pi Browser

All payments go through the official Pi payment flow in the Pi Browser. When you tap Generate, the familiar Pi payment sheet slides up, you approve it, and the transaction completes like any other Pi app payment. PiTube never asks for your passphrase or wallet keys — approval always happens in the Pi Browser's own payment sheet.
